Fahrenheit 9/11 is a documentary film by American filmmaker Michael Moore, which had a general release in the United States and Canada on June 25, 2004. It's also one of the rare documentaries to have been awarded by a Golden Palm at the Cannes Festival.
The film presents a critical look at the presidency of George W. Bush and the War on Terrorism. It also criticizes the American corporate media, claiming they were "cheerleaders" for the 2003 invasion of Iraq and did not provide an accurate and objective analysis of the rationale for the war and the resulting casualties there.
During the 2004 US Presidential Race, Michael Moore decided to release for free its documentary, allowing any American to watch it before voting. It's one of the main reason why the movie is still available on the Net under the tag free movie.
