Crying while eating is one of the Internet's biggest viral video hits in 2005. Created by Casimir Nozkowski, the simple concept invites anybody to video record themselves crying while eating. The site, which relies on user-generated videos, has generated 65 million hits to date, according to The Daily Reel.

In 2006, it won two contagious media awards, a viral marketing contest sponsored by arts and technology nonprofit Eyebeam. The rules of the contest were : Make a (nonpornographic) Web site. Promote it any way you want, short of paid advertisements. The page with the most visitors after three weeks wins.

Since then, Casimir Nozkowski signed with video portal the Daily Reel. Daily Reel co-founder Jeff Stern described Nozkowski's work as "laugh out loud funny, but also really has a sharp point to it." He said the combination of humor and social commentary in Nozkowski's work helped the videos appeal to a wide range of viewers.
